About this complete himachal tour package
complete himachal tour package is a practical 9-night circuit for travellers who want to see Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala and Dalhousie in one holiday. Starting and ending in Chandigarh, the route combines heritage streets, mountain valleys, Tibetan-influenced culture, pine forests and flexible local sightseeing. The longer intercity drives are balanced with overnight stays, so you are not changing hotels every day.
Shimla begins the trip with an easy introduction to the hills. Manali adds Beas Valley scenery and optional Solang Valley time, while Dharamshala brings monasteries, cafés and Dhauladhar views. Dalhousie provides a quieter finish, with the option to visit Khajjiar. Use this itinerary alongside our Himachal travel guide when deciding which activities and seasonal excursions to add.
Who this trip suits
This complete himachal tour package works well for families, couples, first-time Himachal visitors and small private groups. The itinerary can be adjusted for slower mornings, extra leisure, room upgrades or a different balance between sightseeing and rest. Families with children and older travellers should discuss walking requirements and the long Manali–Dharamshala and Dalhousie–Chandigarh drives before confirming.
Good to know before booking
- The best travel windows are March to June and September to November. Winter weather can bring snow, cold conditions and road delays in higher areas.
- Mountain journeys are traffic- and weather-dependent; actual drive times may change. Keep important connections flexible.
- Altitude can range widely across Himachal. Stay hydrated, avoid overexertion on the first day and consult a doctor if you have relevant medical conditions.
- Some high-altitude or restricted-area excursions may require local permits, authorised transport or may close temporarily due to weather. These are arranged or advised subject to local rules.
- Confirm room preferences, vehicle size, meal plan and optional activities through the quote form. Prices are provided on request.

10-Day Route Plan
Meet your driver at Chandigarh International Airport or the railway station and drive to Shimla through the Himalayan foothills. The journey is approximately 115 km and usually takes 3.5–4.5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Check in and keep the evening relaxed.
Visit the Ridge, Christ Church area, Mall Road and nearby viewpoints at a comfortable pace. You may also customise the day with Kufri or a heritage walk, subject to road and weather conditions. Return to the hotel for the night.
Travel towards Manali through the mountain roads, passing changing valley scenery and towns along the Beas route. This is a long transfer of approximately 8–10 hours, with breaks planned along the way. Check in after arrival and rest.
Explore Hadimba Temple, the old village area, Vashisht and the local market. The itinerary can include Solang Valley or another permitted nearby excursion depending on weather, road access and local conditions. Keep the evening free for a relaxed walk.
Drive from Manali towards Dharamshala through the changing landscapes of Himachal. Allow around 7–8 hours with breaks, as mountain traffic and road conditions can affect timings. Check in at Dharamshala and enjoy a quiet evening.
Spend the day around McLeod Ganj, exploring the monastery area, local cafés and viewpoints over the Dhauladhar range. You can add a short nature walk or visit nearby Bhagsu, depending on energy levels and local access. Return to your hotel.
Continue to Dalhousie through winding hill roads and forested stretches. The drive is approximately 120 km and may take 4–5 hours with breaks. After check-in, use the remaining time for a gentle local walk.
Visit the town’s churches, viewpoints and colonial-era lanes, with an optional excursion to Khajjiar if road and weather conditions permit. The day is intentionally flexible for photography, short walks or rest. Return to Dalhousie for the final hill night.
Depart after breakfast for Chandigarh, with a long road journey of approximately 345 km. Allow 9–10 hours, including breaks and possible traffic delays. Overnight in Chandigarh helps avoid a rushed airport or railway departure.
After breakfast, check out according to your onward flight or train schedule. Your driver will transfer you to Chandigarh International Airport or the railway station. Keep extra time for traffic when planning a departure connection.
