Meghalaya: Abode of Clouds — Guides, Itineraries & Tour Packages

Meghalaya, the “abode of clouds,” is known for misty Khasi and Jaintia hills, living root bridges, dramatic waterfalls, limestone caves and welcoming village culture. It suits nature lovers, hikers, photographers and slower road-trip itineraries. October to April is generally the most comfortable period; October remains especially green after the monsoon, though showers can linger. Most travellers fly or take a train to Guwahati, Assam, then continue by road to Shillong, the state’s main base, with onward taxis or local tours.
